Seth Peters is a guitarist, storyteller, and tone-chaser from the hills of South Central Kentucky. Raised on gospel harmonies, ‘90s country, and the raw expression of artists like Phil Keaggy and Eric Johnson, Seth’s journey started with a farm boy’s ear and a beat-up guitar. At age 12, a dusty cassette of classical chamber music sparked his obsession with melody—and he’s been pulling emotion out of strings ever since.

He trained under Sharon (Law) Whittinghill with significant study in the Romantic and Baroque Period music, before becoming absorbed in the phrasing of Joe Satriani and Steve Morse, and learned to “speak” guitar by listening to the subtle intricacies of how virtuosos fretted their instruments. From local shows and regional tours to studio sessions and songwriter circles, Seth has spent decades refining his sound and sharing it wherever people gather to listen.

Now, through his YouTube channel, The Expressive Guitarist, Seth helps others break free from robotic playing and rediscover the soul of the instrument. He teaches from experience—not theory—drawing from years of performance, collaboration, and community. His goal? To help players stop memorizing and start communicating.
